Landmark and Calderpeel secure consent in Timperley

Developer Landmark Living and architect Calderpeel have won planning consent for a residential scheme in an area along Manchester Road currently undergoing significant development.

The proposals are for a brownfield site just up from Altrincham Retail Park which is currently home to a number of vacant small business units and a detached house that was subdivided into two flats.

Calderpeel and Landmark’s plans are for five three-storey townhouses of three bedrooms, and a detached home of two beds, with access via Hartington Road. All of the properties have gardens.

Planners gave the scheme, pictured below, the green light late last month, stating it would “positively enhance” what was a currently partly derelict area of Altrincham and Timperley.

The area has seen significant development in the last 12 months with a new Kids Allowed nursery being built on the corner of Viaduct Road, while Gecko Homes is also building apartments where Hartington Road meets Manchester Road – this site was formerly used for retailing sheds.

Further up the road, Wates and Laurus Homes are nearing completion on new homes and apartments on a site that borders the Lookers building and the Dulux Decorator Centre.

Other schemes Landmark has secured consent for include a site on Brook Avenue, Timperley; and in Altrincham, where it is developing a vacant plot off Church Walk, just behind the Orange Tree and the Old Market Tavern.

Homes developed by the company are typically priced between £350,000 and £950,000, and it currently has 10 sites in its development pipeline; these typically feature up to 12 homes, all priced below £1m.

Earlier this year, company director Konrad Keller told Place North West the company was looking at more sites in the area ranging between five and 50 homes.
