Laing O’Rourke Construction faces Liverpool sentence

Laing O'Rourke Construction is being sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court today after admitting responsibility for a worker's fall in a Liverpool One building.

The Laing O'Rourke employee fell more than three metres inside an apartment block during the construction of Grosvenor's £1bn Liverpool One scheme.

The worker sustained serious head injuries when he fell on 13 August 2007.

Laing O'Rourke Construction pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing at Liverpool Magistrates Court to a charge under the Health and safety at Work Act 1974.
