Kuits on the hunt for Manchester office
The law firm, which employs around 200 staff, is looking to relocate from its base at 3 St Mary’s Parsonage with two frontrunners emerging for its 30,000 sq ft requirement.
The company is currently based across two sites – the main office in the Victorian 3 St Mary’s Parsonage, and its meeting rooms and reception on the seventh floor of Bruntwood’s Blackfriars House, both of which are near Spinningfields.
A potential extension in Blackfriars House over two additional floors has been mooted, while Allied London’s ABC has also emerged as a frontrunner. Other options the company has considered include Landmark, 101 Embankment, and Trinity.
Blackfriars House is currently set for a major redevelopment, including the improvement of the existing rooftop space to add a restaurant and bar. There will also be a café, lounge, events space and co-working areas on the ground floor, as well as a balcony added overlooking the river Irwell.
At Allied London’s ABC, which is currently being refurbished, Kuits could join tenants including post-production company The Farm, which has taken 25,000 sq ft at the 130,000 sq ft building. Everyman Cinema has also signed up to operate a site from ABC, while boutique fitness studio Barry’s Bootcamp is already operational on the ground floor.
Kuits is being advised by OBI on its potential move, and is understood to be looking to complete a deal by the end of the year. The group, which is celebrating its 110th year in business in 2019, acts for property clients including Bruntwood, Salboy, Trafford Housing Trust, Styles & Wood, the University of Salford, and Property Alliance Group.
Other law firms to move in the last six months include Knights, which has opted for space at Two St Peter’s Square after an 11,000 sq ft deal at 101 Barbirolli fell through earlier this year.
