KTC expands into Aintree

Mayr Melnhof Packaging has sold its 165,000 sq ft former manufacturing facility in Aintree to KTC Edibles.

It is understood that the cooking oil manufacturer bought the unit for close to the £1.5m asking price.

The property on Dunnings Bridge Road is on a 9-acre plot next to the Switch Retail Leisure Park, behind Allied Bakeries.

The site was closed by Mayr Melnhof Packaging in late 2012. KTC Edibles is to use the building as part of its expansion operations from its existing Liverpool base on the Port of Liverpool.

B8 Real Estate represented Mayr Melnhof, while White Rose acted on behalf of KTC Edibles.

Jon Thorne, director of B8 Real Estate: "Whilst the main focus of the industrial property market in North Liverpool has been on logistics with Liverpool 2 and the growth at the Port of Liverpool, it is also nice to see that UK companies are investing in the region for manufacturing uses."
