KPMG launches 100,000 sq ft pre-let search

Financial advisors KPMG have retained agents Knight Frank to help identify a new office location in Manchester city centre.

The planned relocation is likely to take place in 2013, giving KPMG time to work with a developer on a new building. The welcome requirement could be sufficient to trigger the start of a major development such as Ask's 32-acre Greengate on the edge of Salford, by Manchester Cathedral, or Argent and Greater Manchester Property Venture Fund's One St Peter's Square, which has consent for 273,000 sq ft net office space.

Allied London is also among the early front-runners, with several options for new office buildings remaining at Spinningfields.

KPMG's lease at its current base, St James' Square in John Dalton Street, expires in December 2014.
