Liverpool City Council has agreed a 10-year lease in neighbouring Knowsley with landlord St Modwen on units totalling 12,200 sq ft at £145,000 a year.
LCC will use the Moorgate Point premises along with a four-acre compound to operate the city’s fleet of refuse and recycling vehicles.
Moorgate Point is a 445,000 sq ft development providing industrial and office accommodation, storage compounds and an enterprise centre and with an additional 6.5 acres of development land. Moorgate Point is now fully let.
David Nuttall, development manager at St Modwen, said: “We acquired Moorgate Point just six months ago and are pleased that Liverpool City Council has chosen to commit to a 10-year lease due to the site’s excellent location and transport links. The fact that we have also been able to accommodate Muni-serv in its expansion is testament to the investment and improvements that we have made to the site since acquisition.”
Pinsent Masons, Knight Frank and B8 Real Estate represented St Modwen.
