Knowsley event to help firms cut energy costs

Businesses are being invited by Knowsley Council to find out how to reduce their energy costs through using renewable energy solutions.

A breakfast event will be held at the Suites Hotel on Tuesday 25 May as part of European Small and Medium Enterprises Week and is open to businesses from across Merseyside.

Local companies will be on hand to highlight the technology they have developed and discuss the variety of options available to businesses.

Businesses will be able to find out how to generate their own energy, and how to make use of the incentives recently introduced. There will be a presentation on feed-in tariffs – a Government backed scheme that pays companies an income for generating their own energy.

Cllr Graham Morgan, Knowsley's cabinet member for regeneration, economy and skills, said: "A lot of companies want to cut their energy costs and do their bit for the environment but can be confused about how to do that.

"This workshop will allow them to swap ideas with businesses specialising in this sort of technology and will touch on everything from solar power to biomass."

  • The event is at the Suites Hotel near Prescot at 8:15am on Tuesday 25th May 2010 and places can be booked via Jenny Nield on 0151 443 2325 or by emailing jennifer.nield@knowsley.gov.uk
