Knowsley business park due for consent

Orbit Investments’ plans for an industrial development, made up of 15 units totalling 100,000 sq ft, have been recommended for approval.

A weighing station on the six-acre site at Lees Road, at the entrance to Knowsley Business Park, would be demolished to make way for five business units totalling 23,000 sq ft and a 44,000 sq ft self-storage unit.

Three trade counter units, four retail units, a drive-through café and a food kiosk complete the scheme.

Knowsley Council’s planning committee is due to meet next week to discuss the proposals. Only one objection to the scheme has been received, citing concerns over increased traffic in the area.

Nexus is planner, and WML Consulting is the structural engineer. The joint agents are CBRE and B8 Real Estate.

Nearby, Orbit has brought to market a 110,000 sq ft warehouse unit, known as Academy One, which is being offered at a rent of £52,708 a month, according to Orbit’s website. Academy Two, an additional 110,000 sq ft unit, is also proposed.
