Knights close to deal at 101 Barbirolli

Law firm Knights has announced it is planning to relocate its Manchester team to 101 Barbirolli, although it is still in legal negotiations over the 10,500 sq ft office.

The decision to invest in a new office in Manchester follows Knights’ acquisition of Turner Parkinson earlier this year.

The firm would be relocating 200 staff from Hollins Chambers to the top floor of the recently refurbished Barbirolli Square.

Knights is understood to have exchanged contracts with Barbirolli owner, investment manager AEW. Savills and OBI are joint agents on the building.

Handelsbanken took three floors in 101 Barbirolli earlier this year, at a rent of around £30/sq ft.

David Beech, chief executive at Knights, said: “Manchester is an excellent location from which to grow our presence in the North West. The decision to invest in the city was the natural progression following the acquisition of Turner Parkinson earlier this year and key to our strategy of growing the Knights’ brand organically.”
