Knight Frank to handle Spencer sites around Manchester

Merseyside-based industrial developer and investor Spencer Holdings has appointed Knight Frank to market a portfolio of units across Greater Manchester.

Sites in the instruction include Hanson Park, Jubilee Park and Townley Park, all in Middleton, Mountheath Industrial Estate, Prestwich, and Phoenix Close Industrial Estate, Heywood.

Spencer specialises in acquiring and managing multi-let industrial and trading estates with small units. The company, founded and chaired by Jim Spencer, recently secured £200m from the Bank of Scotland to grow its national portfolio from 5m sq ft to 6m sq ft.

The downturn in values suits Spencer's acquisition style; it bought five estates in the first quarter of 2008.
