Knight Frank lets BDP’s top floor
The top floor of architect BDP’s Manchester headquarters has been let by Knight Frank to My Clever Agency, a social media specialist established seven years ago. The 5,446 sq ft deal includes an outdoor terrace.
BDP, which has a long leasehold on the distinctive Ducie Street building, has sub-let the space since around 2010. The previous occupant was Code Computerlove, which has since consolidated two offices into new space at Sevendale House.
Mark Bamber of Knight Frank’s office agency team said the building is still a “benchmark” in office excellence, adding: “There is limited space available in the Northern Quarter of any quality and this is in a great location, close to Piccadilly station and overlooking the canal basin.”
Several projects are undergoing preparatory work in the wider Piccadilly Basin area, controlled by Town Centre Securities, with a Dakota Deluxe hotel, a SimpsonHaugh-designed residential block and Urban Splash’s conversion of Brownsfield Mill at various stages.
Gavin Elliott, chairman of BDP’s Manchester studio, said: “It’s important to us to have a tenant that appreciates the environmental benefits of the building, and also brings certain creative synergies. It’s been a great process and we’re very happy to have My Clever Agency alongside us.”
