KMI wins Preston wastewater upgrade

United Utilities has awarded a £70m contract to a joint venture between Kier, Murphy and Interserve for the improvement of the wastewater network in Preston.

KMI will design and build new interceptor tunnels, pumping station, pumping mains and associated works to resolve problems of unsatisfactory discharges from a number of outlets on the wastewater network in Preston.

The work will take two years to complete.
