Kilpatrick finishes first phase of Castle Street revamp

Glasgow-based Kilpatrick has completed the £500,000 refurbishment of Grade II-listed 14 Castle Street in Liverpool's historic commercial core.

The developer bought 14 Castle Street along with 10 to 18 Castle Street, through its subsidiary, Maplerow , in summer 2008 for £2m.

Four ground floor retail units are occupied by Furness Building Society, Carphone Warehouse, Origin Rejuvenation Clinic and Looks. Above these are four floors of office space totalling in excess of 20,000 sq ft divided into suites of approximately 2,000 sq ft each.

The first phase of the rolling three-year refurbishment period is now complete in 14 Castle Street. Each of the 44 panes of glass in the atrium were replaced around the Victorian iron spiral staircase. The oak double doors to the office suites and original Victorian fireplaces were retained and restored.

All the refurbishment work was carried out by AGM Group, a specialist firm of fit-out contractors, supervised by Mason Owen Chartered Building Surveyors.

Joint agents are CB Richard Ellis and Mason Owen.
