Kier director joins Vinci Construction

Former Kier director Garry Bowker has joined Vinci Construction as head of its North West office.

At Kier, he had responsibility for the company’s operations in Manchester. At Vinci, he will head up its North West and retail teams.

Bowker takes over from John Roberts, who has been promoted to regional managing director for Vinci. Roberts will now oversee the North West, North East and Midlands.

Roberts said: “The appointment of Garry ensures we have the leadership that Vinci Construction requires to keep us at the forefront. Vinci’s team are looking forward to working with Garry and I am looking forward to implementing our strategy to improve our opportunities in the North.”

Bowker’s appointment comes in a swathe of management restructures following Keith Shivers’ retirement and Chris Winspear’s appointment as regional director for the North East, both of which took place at the end of 2019.

Vinci is currently on site at Muse Developments’ Warrington Time Square after being awarded the £69m contract in 2017. It is also working on delivering the £52m Barton Square redevelopment at Intu Trafford Centre, which is due for completion in the coming months.
