KFC drive-thru proposed for M6 and M56 services
If plans are approved, travellers at Lymm Services will be able to satisfy their fried chicken cravings at the 24-hour fast-food restaurant.
Moto Hospitality submitted plans for the drive-thru to Warrington Council, which call for a single-storey building to both serve food and provide hot food takeaway. Drawings of the restaurant that were submitted with the application show prominent KFC logos.
The KFC would take over the 7,880 sq ft site to construct its 1,205 sq ft restaurant.
Lymm Services is situated off Cliff Lane and is accessible via the A50. Travellers can make their way to the services off junction 20 of the M6 and junction nine of the M56. Lymm Services also hosts a Costa, McDonalds and a W H Smith.
Bringing in the KFC will result in the loss of 33 parking spaces at the services. An additional three spaces will be added as well, one of which will be for disabled parking. The other two will be a designated “grill bay” for customers to wait in if their food takes longer to make.
AW Architectural Design drew up the plans for the restaurant. Beamish Planning Consultancy wrote the planning statement.
