KFC buys roadside premises out of administration

Manchester-based administrator MCR has sold Kirkstyle House on Huddersfield Road in Oldham to fried chicken chain KFC for £350,000.

David Murray, head of corporate services property at the Manchester office of Sanderson Weatherall, secured the freehold sale on behalf of MCR.

The 3,450 sq ft building was formerly a shop and offices owned by disability aids retailer Active Life and has parking for 17 cars to the rear.

Murray said: "It's very encouraging that even in these difficult economic times there is still a strong market among retailers for such prominent roadside locations."
