Keepmoat boss aims to double house sales

Sandy McBride, who joined from Redrow in April as managing director of Keepmoat's new build homes division in the North West, wants to double the number of units sold annually from 400 to 800.

Keepmoat forecasts sales of more than 400 homes in the North West over the 2014-15 financial year. McBride says that figure can double to 800 sales a year within the next five years.

Redrow brought McBride down from Scotland where he was MD following the Scottish division's closure in 2011 to head up the North West.

In July, Manchester City Council chose Keepmoat to build 400 flexible 'Lifetime' homes as part of a £50m regeneration scheme in Gorton, subject to planning permission.

McBride said: "Now is a great time to be joining Keepmoat. The economy is improving, there's a shortfall in housing and the pipeline of development we have in the North West means we can confidently look to double our sales in five years."

As well as building on Keepmoat's partnerships with local authorities in Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Lancashire, McBride will be looking to expand Keepmoat's reach in Cheshire.

Peter Hindley, managing director of Keepmoat Homes, said: "Sandy is a key appointment for us as we look to increase sales and drive the construction of new homes in the North West of England.

"Sandy has a huge wealth of experience in house building and his expertise in business development and knowledge of the region means he is the ideal person to grow Keepmoat's business in the North West."

Keepmoat was formed in March 2012 following the merger of Apollo and the Keepmoat Group of companies; Bramall Construction, Keepmoat Homes, Keepmoat, Frank Haslam Milan and Milnerbuild.

Keepmoat has 22 regional offices and employs around 2,900 people across the UK. Keepmoat provides four core offerings: community regeneration; new build homes; responsive maintenance and sustainability.
