Jobs hope as GVA Grimley joins recruiters
A mild outbreak of re-hiring appears to have gripped the region’s property community with GVA Grimley the latest to strengthen its numbers after a turbulent year.
GVA Grimley announced the appointment of Shawn Ganguly, pictured, as director in its lease consultancy department. Ganguly joined the Manchester office from rival DTZ to work alongside associate director, Laura Johnson, and Ben Ridgway, senior surveyor.
Grimley, along with the vast majority of property firms, made redundancies during the recession. An increasing number are now hiring again having undergone restructuring. These include Manchester Airports Group and Isis Waterside, developer of a residential scheme in New Islington, Manchester, before the crash. Both are appointing development managers. Quantity surveyor and engineer Rider Levett Bucknall, which has an office in Manchester, is also on a UK recruitment drive.
Mark Rawstron, regional senior director at GVA Grimley’s Manchester office, said: “Due to the hard work and subsequent growth of the existing team, Shawn has been appointed to support increased demand for the team’s services.”
