JOB | Retail Planner

We are looking for a progressive and versatile retail planner at either Principal or Associate level, to be based at our office in MediaCityUK, Manchester. You will take a leading role in key projects within the retail and commercial sectors. With proven technical skills, you'll apply your knowledge to ensure you deliver projects to time and budget and effectively respond to what is a changing and diverse market.

Your Role

Providing unrivalled professional and technical advice and intelligence, you will maintain and develop long standing relationships with clients in the retail and commercial sector. It is envisaged that the majority of your workload will involve retail and commercial planning projects and you will be expected to operate at a competent and professional level with little direct supervision. The role requires an excellent knowledge of the planning system and the ability to process planning applications for major commercial developments. This will include the assessment and appraisal of detailed and technical document including retail impact statements, quantitative modelling, the negotiation of all aspects of a planning application, and direct liaison with internal and external clients.

About You

Educated to degree level or equivalent, you'll bring to the role sound knowledge and proven experience in the field of retail town planning, with relevant industry experience. You will have been involved in large or complex planning projects in the retail planning market, as well as experience or knowledge of advising private sector and /or local authority clients. We are looking for candidates with enthusiastic and a flexible approach that equips WYG to support diverse teams in line with changing priorities. You will be a member of a professional body, such as RTPI or RICS.
