Job losses at Space

Diverse architecture-to-building management company Space Group is restructuring and making around 30 of its 112 staff redundant.

The business has its headquarters in Newcastle with branch offices in Leeds and Manchester. The Manchester office, in 80 Mosley Street, will go from nine to three staff after the restructuring, which has already started.

Space was founded in 1957 and is made up of eight companies working across the design, build and operate service streams, including architectural, interior design, surveying and construction companies.

The company structure was aimed at enabling the business to "take any project within the built environment from conception to completion and beyond."
