JOB: Associate Town Planner / Town Planning Director
Manchester – city centre
We are seeking an experienced Town Planner to join our Manchester Urbanism studio, to work with the studio directors in securing new business and in leading project teams. Our work is varied and includes masterplans, regeneration frameworks, environmental impact assessments, preparation of planning applications, stakeholder engagement and strategic planning advice for public and private sector clients across the UK and increasingly beyond.
About you
We are looking for a chartered town planner with several years' post-qualification experience in the private and/or public sector. This is a client-facing role requiring an excellent knowledge of statutory town planning combined with confident written and verbal communication, to deliver town planning advice that assists with development proposals, strategy development, decision-making and problem solving. A strong technical background along with a passion for town planning, regeneration, urban design and sustainability and experience of working to tight deadlines are a must.
You will enjoy leading teams and working in a collaborative multi-disciplinary environment, and will be able to demonstrate an ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, including the project teams, clients, local communities and external consultants.
