JMW hires construction partner
The law firm has appointed Helen Daley as a construction partner in its Manchester office, working alongside head of department Andrew Rimmer.
Daley joins from law firm TLT, where she was legal director in the firm’s project, infrastructure and construction team in Manchester for just under five years.
Prior to that, she worked as an in-house solicitor for EDF Energy Renewables in Sunderland, after a two-year stint as an assistant solicitor at Freeth’s.
Daley specialises in adjudication and enforcement proceedings within the construction and energy sectors, and regularly advises clients in connection with mediation and claims in the Technology and Construction Court.
She is a member of the Technology and Construction Solicitors Association and the Society of Construction Law.
At JMW Solicitors, she will work with Rimmer, who is head of construction, and six other partners UK-wide. The firm counts Urban Splash and Domis Construction among its North West-based clients.
Rimmer said: “Helen brings with her a great deal of experience in construction disputes and especially in adjudication proceedings.
“We feel her specialist experience will be invaluable to the construction team and our wider offering in real estate.”
Daley added: “I am delighted to be joining a progressive and dynamic firm like JMW, and very much looking forward to working with the respected real estate commercial team and its wide client base.”
