JLL Manchester recruit signals leisure sector move

The Manchester office of Jones Lang LaSalle has recruited Tom Cunningham as a senior surveyor in its newly formed licensed leisure and hotels team.

Cunningham joins from Colliers Robert Barry and has 15 years' professional experience. He said: "It is particularly encouraging in the current climate that Jones Lang LaSalle has shown the confidence and ambition to further develop its client services in the licensed leisure sector. This newly combined licensed leisure and hotels team in England complements the market leading services of Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels, across the UK and Europe, as well as the company's existing Leisure team."

JLL's new team will expand on work in the existing leisure department headed by Stuart Burdon-Bailey in Manchester with clients including X Leisure, Legal & General Leisure Fund, Odeon, Stanley Genting and RREEF.

Jonathan Mills, head of JLL's Manchester office, added: "Tom is well respected in the North West property market and his extensive experience is key to the development of this new licensed leisure business line. Not only does his appointment broaden our client services from Manchester but significantly strengthens our presence in the UK hospitality market which, in turn, makes us better placed to meet our clients' needs."
