JD retailers take Arndale space

Tessuti is to open at Manchester Arndale, joining fellow JD Sports Fashion brand Scotts, which is relocating to a larger unit, as the group committed to 12,500 sq ft in total.

The two operations will trade from adjacent units at the centre, which is owned by Intu and M&G Real Estate.

Tessuti, which also trades from the Trafford Centre and Lowry Outlet Mall,  is designated as JD’s premium brands retailer, stocking the likes of Parajumpers, Marbek, Love Moschino and Polo Ralph Lauren. Scotts will expand its “athleisure” offer, selling brands including Fred Perry, Paul & Shark and Tommy Hilfiger.

The main JD Sports brand opened a new flagship store at the Arndale in 2017. Further fashion arrivals over the course of 2018 have included Gap and Scandinavian brand Monki.

Kannika Mall, asset manager at M&G Real Estate, said: “The fact that JD Sports Fashion Group is bringing Tessuti to Manchester Arndale, to join the group’s other key brands, is testament to the centre’s continued popularity and reputation amongst retailers.”

The retained agents for Manchester Arndale are JLL and Metis Real Estate Advisors. JD Sports was self-represented.
