Irwin Mitchell makes senior hire  

Law firm Irwin Mitchell Solicitors has recruited Richard Allan to the role of senior consultant in its national construction team, working from the Manchester office at One St Peter’s Square. 

Allan joined from Knights where he was a partner in the construction and engineering team for eight months from January to August 2020. 

He held a similar position at JMW Solicitors where he spent 18 months before joining Knights. 

Allan has also held positions at DLA Piper and Pinsent Masons.  

His appointment takes Irwin Mitchell’s construction team headcount to 11 with two partners.  The team is led by national head of construction and engineering, Mark Clinton, and Adrian Barlow, Irwin Mitchell’s national head of real estate. 

Allan’s appointment is several hires in the pipeline, some of which are to be announced this autumn, according to Barlow. 

Barlow said: “We are delighted someone of Richard’s calibre is joining our construction team.

“Richard will provide a good boost to our national real estate team and help with our clients’ construction legal needs across England and beyond.”
