Irwin Mitchell adds third construction partner

Edward Davies is leaving law firm Hill Dickinson after 11 years to take on the role of construction partner at Irwin Mitchell’s Manchester office.

During his time at Hill Dickenson, Edwards advised on construction and engineering projects and spent five years as part of the team managing the Panama Canal expansion project in Central America that completed in 2016.

Prior to that he was a partner at Pinsent Masons for more than 20 years.

Edwards will be based at Irwin Mitchell’s Manchester office at One St Peter’s Square but will have a national remit, the company said.

The law firm’s construction team is made up of 13 employees and is led by partner Mark Clinton. The team sits within Irwin Mitchell’s national real estate practice, headed by Adrian Barlow.

In September, the firm appointed Richard Allan to the role of senior consultant, working out of the Manchester office.

Barlow said: “We are delighted that Edward is joining our construction team, which has already received a boost with the appointment of Richard Allan in September.

“Edward’s immense experience and contacts will be invaluable as we build our practice further particularly in the North.”

Irwin Mitchell’s commercial and residential property departments consist of 26 partners and a team of more than 80 staff from seven offices across the UK.
