Part of law firm Slater & Gordon’s Manchester headquarters has been sublet to the workspace consultancy for a training and employment hub as part of a Government programme.
Sixteen Real Estate was the letting agent on the 30,000 sq ft deal at 58 Mosley Street. Law firm Stevens & Bolton represented Slater and Gordon.
Place North West understands that the deal with Instant Group is part of a 1.5m sq ft Government acquisition spree linked to rebuilding the economy after the Covid-19 pandemic and series of lockdowns that hit large parts of the economy.
A Slater and Gordon spokesperson said: “We are pleased to announce we have agreed a subletting of 33,374 sq ft to the Instant Group for the ground floor, first and second floor of our Manchester headquarters.
“The space will be used by Instant Group to facilitate part of the Government’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic, and we are delighted that our surplus space can be put to good use.
“We look forward to welcoming them to the building – 58 Mosley Street is a fantastic building in the heart of Manchester and we remain committed to the location.”
The law firm has recently announced its “Connected Working” model as it seeks to make permanent increased volumes of home-working, leading its office spaces to be reconfigured to include more meeting and collaboration spaces.
Acorss the boar,d professional services occupiers are reduing their real estate footprints, with Deloitte’s move from 67,000 sq ft at Spinningfeilds to 35,000 sq ft at Noma being a signifier of the trend.
