Impel starts on Ropemaker Place

Main contractor Impel Construction has started work on Ropemaker Place, a residential-led scheme on Renshaw Street in Liverpool for client Legacie Developments.

Designed by Falconer Chester Hall, the development will house 74 apartments over eight storeys alongside two retail units at ground floor level. This includes 9,700 sq ft of commercial or retail space, and a mix of one and two-bed apartments.

The site on Renshaw Street and Leece Street, next to The Dispensary pub, has been cleared with Impel starting main construction works on site in the coming weeks. The project is expected to complete in early 2019.

Plans for the project were submitted in October 2015, and approved by Liverpool’s planning committee in June last year.

Zerum acted as planning consultant for the scheme.

Impel is also working on a residential conversion of the former Mersey House on The Strand for client Primesite.

Wow the contrast between the big new buildings and the tiny older ones looks really good

I had the misfortune to work on this. When I look at this image it makes me want to cry.
