Novo New Street Altrincham 1

Novo Property Group has submitted a planning application for 15 affordable homes in the centre of Altrincham, slightly tweaking the design from an earlier iteration revealed last year.

The 15 two-bedroom shared ownership apartments will be built on behalf of Southway Housing Trust, on a site near to the Regent Road car park.

Designed by Project 3 Architects, the three-storey brick-clad block would replace two largely vacant buildings currently on the New Street plot.

Nice looking scheme, will improve what exists there now and provides further affordable housing in an increasingly high value area.

Too cheap and small, Altrincham is a desirable place with expensive houses for families, it is the Harrogate of Manchester. These should not be built.

Get your head checked @No. Looks fantastic, don’t kid me thinking affordable housing of this caliber isn’t desirable. Get in the bin you muppet.

Defensible space, context, scale, proportion, structural integrity…………basic design requirements not evident here……..you can be contemporary without resorting to this.
