Iliad converts offices into fitness club

Iliad Group has signed gym operator VO2 Active to an 11,000 sq ft unit at East Village in Duke Street, Liverpool.

Work is about to start on the conversion of office space into the gym, designed by Manchester practice, Formroom Architects.

Formroom's managing director, Tim Groom, said: "East Village is already a hub for creative and thriving businesses, with restaurants, leisure spaces and public piazzas. Introducing a high specification gym will work to attract even more residents and revenue to the area. The building itself provides a great space for a high quality gym, promoting fitness and motivation within a contemporary setting.

"The gym represents a £1.5m investment in the local area, and has already been hailed as a welcome addition to the bustling development at East Village, Liverpool."

Completion is due in September.
