id4Living buys residential site in Frodsham

A subsidiary of the Seddon Group has purchased just under 1.5 acres from a private land owner at Saltworks Farm in the Cheshire town for an undisclosed sum.

The site, situated along Ship Street, has planning consent for 25 two-storey houses and was sold through an informal tender process.

The private land owner previously sold around 15 acres to house builder Wainhomes, which subsequently developed a residential scheme from 1995.

Will Rees, residential land agency director at Liverpool-based chartered surveyors Rees Straw, who acted on behalf of the private land owner, said: "The land market faces the underlying pressures of muted development appetite, scrutiny on site selection and finance in short supply. However, we know this market intimately, and success is about engaging the right approach and campaign, ensuring appetite from the available market is driven to an optimum."
