Huyton care home site comes to market

A brownfield plot off Dinas Lane with a planning history stretching back more than a decade has been put up for sale with an asking price of around £400,000.

Planning permission was granted for the one-acre site near Roby station in 2007 for a 40-bedroom nursing or residential home, but these proposals were never progressed.

More recently, BPS Development secured consent for the Richmond Fellowship for two residential blocks of two and three storeys. Designed by Snow Architects, these proposals won planning approval from Knowsley Council in August last year.

The site’s owner has now opted to put it up for sale and has appointed Hitchcock Wright & Partners as its agent, with offers invited in the region of £400,000.

Nick Harrop, partner at the agent, said: “This piece of land offers an excellent development opportunity for those looking to invest in the Huyton area of Liverpool.

“It is served by fantastic transport links and would certainly suit either a nursing home, or alternatively residential apartments. The tenure is freehold and so we anticipate significant interest in this land, with offers being encouraged.”
