Hurstwood adds to board of directors

The Manchester-based investor and developer has promoted Sam Ashworth, son of the chairman Stephen Ashworth, to project director after seven years with the firm.

Sam Ashworth joined Hurstwood, whose head office is on Bridge Street in Manchester city centre, from Salford-based recruitment firm Morson in 2013 as a development surveyor.

He has been promoted to the board of directors after seven years in the role and will lead on the company’s projects, including the 23,000 sq ft Leigh Commerce Park scheme.

Sam Ashworth said: “While I appreciate that these are unprecedented times, I am fortunate to work with a great team and despite the obvious challenges we are all facing, we are continuing to go about business as usual.”

Hurstwood has previously said it would be making available 35,000 sq ft of space across three buildings in Rossendale, St Helens and Preston, to the NHS during the Covid-19 pandemic, to support frontline staff.
