HSB relocates to central Manchester

HSB Engineering Insurance, part of Munich Re, is moving its customer solutions office from Oldham to the city centre.

HSB took 19,370 sq ft over two-and-a-half floors at Chancery Place. The Manchester office of national law firm, Gateley, advised HSB on the relocation.

Jones Lang LaSalle advised HSB. Savills advised the landlord, Chancery Place Limited Sarl, based in Luxembourg.

Darren Hughes, partner at Gateley, said: "Chancery Place is a premier address, placing HSB in the heart of Manchester's thriving insurance market.

"To complete a deal of this size in the current economic climate is a significant achievement and demonstrates the continued appetite for good quality office space that meets the specific needs of a business."

Stephanie Watkins, chief executive of HSB Engineering Insurance, said: "Moving into high profile premises in the heart of Manchester's financial district is an investment in our future that will enable us to build on our reputation and strengthen our relationships with our clients and brokers.

"At HSB our heritage is deeply rooted in engineering and loss prevention. Manchester, as the historic home of engineering insurance, is the perfect location for serving our clients."
