Housing contractors selected for £500m framework

Manchester-based Great Places Housing Group has announced the winners on a new construction and professional services framework, Innovation Chain North West, which is expected to deliver £500m of construction work over the next four years.

The ICNW follows the success of the last framework, which delivered 4,000 new homes with a construction value of £390m. The new framework has been designed in order for Great Places and other housing providers in the North to work collaboratively with construction partners to deliver a wide variety of new housing developments. It will see existing relationships renewed and provide the opportunity for new partnerships to develop with contractors of various sizes and a range of associated services including employer’s agents, architects and engineers.

Peter Bojar, director of development, said: “The framework has been designed to maximise value for money, efficiency and quality as well as provide crucial social value initiatives, including apprenticeships and employment opportunities.

“Over the next four years the new properties we build via the ICNW framework will ensure we continue to make a much needed contribution to housing growth and provide new developments for aspiring home owners and families.”
