Hourigan Connolly appoints two from WYG

The Manchester-headquartered planning and development consultancy has announced two senior appointments from WYG, with Mike O’Brien coming in as director of planning and Elinor George joining the team as senior planner.

O’Brien began his career in local government in London in 2002 and moved north with WYG in 2011. He regularly appears at development plan examinations and has worked on major applications and appeals for developers as well as public sector clients.

He said: “With the growth plans for new development across the Manchester and Liverpool City regions, and the North West as a whole, it is a fantastic time to be joining Hourigan Connolly. It’s an opportunity to join a well-established consultancy which has a great reputation and a knowledgeable team.”

Prior to joining WYG, George worked for Persimmon.

Hourigan Connolly, now in its eighth year of trading, is led by executive directors Marc Hourigan and Daniel Connolly. The firm is based at Swan Square in the Northern Quarter and has another office in York.
