Hotels group adds to portfolio

The Royal Hotel in Kirkby Lonsdale, between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks, has been acquired by James' Places.

James' Places, based in Clitheroe, already owns Mitton Hall, The Waddington Arms, both in Ribble Valley, and The Emporium in Clitheroe. The new owner plans to completely refurbish the Royal Hotel, which dates back to the 1700s.

The Royal Hotel was acquired from Freeway, an investment company based in the Isle of Man which bought the hotel last year.

Napthens provided James' Places with legal advice on the licensing of the hotel, which overlooks the main square in Kirkby Lonsdale.
