Hotel Yotel Piccadilly win

Plans for a 20-storey Yotel budget hotel designed by Stephenson:ISA Studio in Piccadilly have been approved by Manchester City Council.

The plans were revised after an earlier application was withdrawn. The first design featured a brown edge around the exterior of the building. The brown panels were replaced by white and grey following objections from English Heritage among others.

Yotel was set up by YO! Sushi founder Simon Woodroffe and now has hotels in New York, Gatwick, Heathrow and Amsterdam Sciphol.

 Yotel New York CityThe hotel tower would contain 258 beds and occupy land at 14-16 Piccadilly as well as the Union Bank Building next door, both owned by MCR Property Group.
