Homes4u snaps up Chesters

Manchester lettings agent and property manager Homes4u has acquired rival firm Chesters for an undisclosed sum.

As a result Homes4u will manage 500 more properties, and extend its services to include commercial, as well as block management. The Chesters team will continue to offer value-added sales, lettings and management.

Chesters was established in 1974 and operates throughout Greater Manchester, South Lancashire and Cheshire.

Homes4u has been established for 22 years and has offices in Altrincham, Withington and Manchester city centre.

Carolyn Mellor, owner and managing director of Homes4u Group, said "This has been a strategic move for homes4u, and we are thrilled about the continued growth to our business in such a challenging economic climate.

"The Chesters brand is very much in synergy with the commitment and values of homes4u, strengthening the group's position of being there for 'all your property needs' by adding quality commercial, ground-rent collection and block management services to our offering, and extending the areas which we cover.

"The last financial year started with our successful purchase of Verve Lettings, now our Altrincham branch, the complete renovation and expansion of our head office in Withington, and has ended with this exciting further expansion. We have increased our managed portfolio by 50%, and our team by 20%, in less than 12 months. I'm really proud that we have achieved so much, and intend to continue growing in this new financial year."
