West Lancashire Council has granted Crompton Property Developments outline planning permission for the construction of 580 homes on land at Yew Tree Farm.
The scheme at the farm, which was previously designated greenfield land, includes a care home, community centre, 11-acres of space for employment, and park land.
The project is due to complete by 2027.
NLP Planning advised Crompton. IBI Group was the architect.
The proposals were subject to an extensive consultation process with local residents and key stakeholders. It is anticipated that the first reserved matters application will be submitted later this year.
Simon Pemberton, senior director at NLP, said: “We welcome the approval of this strategic development site, following an intensive period of consultation and negotiation. The proposals will play an important part of the planned housing and economic development for the plan period within West Lancashire.”
