Home Bargains signs in Bolton

The retailer is set to open a 33,300 sq ft unit at Middlebrook Retail & Leisure Park in Bolton after agreeing a deal with landlord Orbit Developments

The store is due to open its doors in early 2020 and also includes a 5,600 sq ft conservatory and a 9,500 sq ft garden centre.

It will be the retailer’s third outlet in the Bolton area, and is being opened as part of Home Bargains’ plan to open 50 stores per year across the UK.

The store at Middlebrook has secured planning permission, allowing conversion and fit-out works to get under way.

Middlebrook in Horwich, which is claimed to be the UK’s largest retail and leisure park, includes Asda,  DFS, Currys, Furniture Village, Halfords, M&S, Oak Furniture Land, Sports Direct, River Island, H&M, Superdrug, and Wilko among its current retail tenants.

Mark Hanna, senior retail leasing surveyor at Orbit Developments, said: “Middlebrook shoppers have been asking us for a retailer like Home Bargains on the park so we’re delighted to have received planning permission for this new store.

“They join a great selection of other successful retail brands at Middlebrook, establishing the park as a great destination for local shoppers. Home Bargains’ popularity is sure to add further footfall to the benefit of everyone at Middlebrook.  We wish them well.”
