Himor Standish site sold

Countryside Properties has bought a 15-acre site in Standish with planning permission for 150 homes from Himor for an undisclosed purchase price.

Wigan Council resolved to grant planning consent for the housing development on the parcel of land off Rectory Lane in March 2014, subject to a section 106 planning agreement.

Countryside will now progress towards a reserved matters application and said it hopes to be on site in the next few months.

Colliers International marketed the site.

Stan Shreeve, land director for Himor, said: "Following successful promotion of the land through the planning process, we received significant interest in the site and were pleased at the number of very competitive bids, confirming the strength of the local market. Countryside provided an initial scheme with their bid that will offer an excellent range of properties for the area and assist in plugging the shortfall of new homes in Standish."
