HealthSure buys South Manchester office for HQ

Healthplan provider HealthSure has completed the acquisition of the Pipex Building in South Manchester from Internet services company GX Networks for £7.3m.

HealthSure will move from Lever Street in Manchester city centre to the 36,325 sq ft building at Christie Fields in Didsbury.

The relocation is due to take place in December 2008 and will see HealthSure's employees move into the Grade A office space along with two other members of the Simplyhealth Group – Vitality, which provides wellness at work services to employers and Totally Active, a provider of mobility solutions.

James Glover, director of HealthSure, said: "Our move to Didsbury signals an exciting period of change for our business. It is our chance to create an office space and working environment that will enable our employees and our business to flourish. Over the course of the next six months we will work closely with employees to ensure that this office caters to their needs."

Stephanie Mullenger, director, offices at Colliers CRE Manchester, said: "This deal proves that there is still a strong commercial appetite for acquisitions in the North West. Owner occupiers are in the market actively looking for quality space on a freehold basis."

The Simplyhealth Group, of which HealthSure is a trading division, was advised by the Manchester offices of Colliers CRE and law firm Pannone LLP.
