HBG offices to launch Future Stockport

Stockport City Council has granted planning consent to HBG Properties to build the 49,000 sq ft St Peter's Square office development.

The HKR Architects-designed building will be opposite the Hat Works museum on Wellington Road South and is scheduled for completion in spring 2009.

The scheme marks the first phase of the council's wider £1bn Future Stockport regeneration initiative.

Clive Perrin, regional director of HBG Properties, said: "Most of the Stockport office stock is of 1960s and 1970s vintage, expensive to maintain and operate and just looks very tired and dated now. But Stockport is home to numerous substantial professional firms and public and private companies and they deserve a better choice. It is about time they had the opportunity to occupy top quality office accommodation of a standard now commonplace in Manchester city centre and elsewhere around the North West. This building will provide premium quality workspace and attract premier occupiers to Stockport."

HBG has retained joint letting agents Edwards & Co and GVA Grimley.
