Harworth sells land at Logistics North

The developer has sold 2.2 acres at the Bolton industrial park to retailer A&F Forecourts, which has permission to build a petrol station and car wash with construction starting in September.

Plot C1, sold to A&F for an undisclosed sum, is located on Bridgewater Avenue at the entrance to the 250-acre Logistics North, which is under development on a site southwest of Bolton straddling Salford and Bolton local authority areas.

A&F’s project, approved by Bolton Council in April, is expected to take 12 months to build. Avison Young is the planning consultant for the scheme.

JLL and B8 Real Estate acted for Harworth Group and Lamb & Swift acted for A&F. Eversheds provided legal advice.

This is A&F’s second deal with Harworth at Logistics North, following the firm’s acquisition of a 0.73-acre plot in December 2019.

Other occupiers at Logistics North include Amazon, Aldi and delivery management firm Whistl. Once complete, the industrial park will provide 4m sq ft of commercial space.

Matthew Whiteley, development manager for the North West at Harworth Group, said: “We have been very impressed by the plans A&F has put forward for Plot C1.

“The development will provide additional facilities for Logistics North’s existing occupiers and local residents, while the electric vehicle charging points will further futureproof the development.”

In April, Harworth confirmed a £30m extension of its credit facility to support the company amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
