Harrocks departs LSH to go solo

James Harrocks has left Lambert Smith Hampton, where for the last three years he has been a director in retail & leisure, to establish his own practice.

The agent had previously been part of the Tushingham Moore management team that sold out to LSH in 2015, and described the move as “like returning to my roots”.

Harrocks said: “It’s an amicable move that will allow me to offer clients a very bespoke service.

“I’ve got a raft of instructions under my belt for the full range of services, from asset management to high street agency, and acquisitions to rent reviews. Whilst retail is a key part of my focus, I’m helping clients with a wide range of their commercial property assets.”

The business will be based in Formby. Clients at the outset include Next, Vision Express and DW Sports & Fitness on the occupational side, and shopping centre owners Infrared Capital Partners and Fairacre, along with Liverpool City Council and Downing on the landlord side.

Assets on which Harrocks, who started with Tushingham Moore in 1989, is acting include the 360,000 sq ft St John’s shopping centre in Liverpool and the 270,000 sq ft St George’s shopping centre in Preston.

He said: “My objective is to grow a focused team of dedicated professionals. We’ll offer a fresh perspective on what is a rapidly-changing market. For every challenge it poses is a counter-veiling opportunity and helping clients evolve their asset management strategies is one of the issues to which I’m particularly looking forward.”
