Harrison Drury opens fourth office

Law firm Harrison Drury has opened an office at the CityLab building in Dalton Square in Lancaster city centre.

The office will be headed up by associate solicitor Brett Cooper and will provide local businesses with commercial legal advice. Cooper joined Harrison Drury in 2013 from Kendal-based TH Commercial where he was partner.

The Lancaster office followed the opening last year of a branch in Kendal. The firm's head office is in Preston. It has another office in Garstang.

Brett Cooper said: "Lancaster is home to a wide array of businesses operating in numerous sectors. As the economy gets back to health and those businesses begin making plans for growth, they will inevitably need access to specialist corporate and commercial legal advice.

"Our primary aim is to provide owners and managers of local businesses with a full range of legal services on their doorstep, without the need for them to look elsewhere in the region."

John Chesworth, managing partner at Harrison Drury, added: "Our growth strategy has been focused on providing owner-managed and SME businesses with quality advice. We have spent the last 12-months developing and strengthening relationships with clients and other professional firms in Lancaster and believe this is a real opportunity to offer them something different.

"Brett is an experienced commercial lawyer who is well known in the area. He will have the full support of our dedicated sector teams at his disposal to give Lancaster businesses the breadth and depth of legal support they need."

Harrison Drury increased headcount by eight to 40 in the last year. The business is currently going through the government's Growth Accelerator programme for businesses committed to growing by 20% year-on-year.
