Harlex brings in Lathwood

The investor and developer has hired Tom Lathwood from Colliers’ development team.

Lathwood worked at Colliers for more than five years, first in office agency then in development, having previously worked as a graduate surveyor at JLL and Bluemantle.

At Harlex, he will be working alongside founder and managing director, the ex-Kier and Argent man James Nicholson on a number of projects.

These include The Granary in Leeds where Harlex is acting as development manager on a refurbishment for Pitalia Real Estate, the investor launched by Lathwood’s father David in 2021.

Harlex is also working for Pitalia on the repositioning of a 250,000 sq ft industrial asset acquired for £8m in December.

Nicholson said: “I am delighted that Tom has joined our team. He brings with him a diverse range of qualities, experiences and a fantastic attitude and he enhance the first-class service and advice that Harlex provides.”

He added that the firm is actively seeking new opportunities, adding: “We have a number of high profile projects on at the moment and have recently acquired a 120,000 sq ft warehouse on Europa Boulevard in Warrington on behalf of CBREIM, which is set to undergo a significant refurbishment.”

Nicholson took full control of Harlex in March 2021, buying out 33% stakeholder Fiera Capital.
