Hammerson appoints RDPR for media relations work
Manchester-based public relations and marketing consultancy Roland Dransfield PR has won a PR account to handle the media relations on behalf of Hammerson for The Rock, the £350m retail and leisure scheme in Bury launching in the summer.
Catrin Morgan, property PR manager at Hammerson, said: "Roland Dransfield PR demonstrated real creativity alongside clear thinking. With a strong track record of working with developers on major projects we felt they were the best team to launch The Rock."
Lisa Morton, managing director of Roland Dransfield PR, added: "Securing this major B2B and consumer account with Hammerson UK Properties plc reinforces our proven track record in this sector. Hammerson is a very strong addition to our existing client portfolio and we are looking forward to working closely with such experts in retail development."
The Rock will total 1.6m sq ft and include anchor stores Debenhams, Marks & Spencer alongside Next and River Island, all due open in July. Vue is opening a ten-screen multiplex cinema and AMF a 24-lane bowling and family entertainment centre.
Hammerson replaced Thornfield Properties as developer of The Rock in January after the scheme's funder, Halifax Bank of Scotland, put subsidiary Thornfield Ventures into administration.
The scheme is aiming to complement the existing retail offer already present within Bury town centre.
