Hamleys to open in Trafford Centre

A Hamleys toy store will open at the Intu Trafford Centre later this month.

The store will open in two phases, with the first part comprising 16,000 sq ft as it takes over the former JJB store on Peel Avenue. It will open on 28 November.

In January, the store will be extended to include the 2,500 sq ft space currently occupied by Ann Summers, which is relocating to 52 Peel Avenue.

As well as its famous flagship store on Regent Street, London, Hamleys has eight stores in the UK in locations such as St Enochs in Glasgow and at the York Designer Outlet.

Gudjon Reynisson, chief executive of Hamleys, said the Intu Trafford Centre fits perfectly with the group's retail proposition of fun, theatre and entertainment.

Property agent Cushman & Wakefield acted for Intu. Jones Lang LaSalle acted for Hamleys.

Lets hope the toys don’t get mixed up when they take over the Ann Summers Unit.
